What a special year!
The year 2020 was also a very special year for us: It was the 35th anniversary of the founding of our company, we built three very special custom bikes, Andreas and Kim sat together in an international jury for the first time and our Battle of the Kings bike “Emperor” was personally awarded by Harley’s chief designer Brad Richards. One highlight followed the next:
2020 started for us with the presentation of the 50th Years CCE Anniversarybike at the Motor Bike Expo in Verona, which we built for the 50th anniversary of Custom Chrome Europe. A very chic and of course well rideable Street Bob, shining in the classic design of our longtime business partner.
Another highlight for us was the participation in the international jury of the bike show “King of Verona”, where Kim and Andreas had the honor to represent us together.
Back in Hamminkeln the last “Battle of the Kings” aka “King of Kings” project started with the extensive rebuild of a 95 Sportster, where the whole Thunderbike team and our trusted partners Jimi with Spirit Leather, painter Chris from Chikos Pinstriping and engraver Carsten Estermann showed their full power.

Our Emperor didn’t get the crown we were hoping for, but it did get a special award from the company’s top designer. Brad Richards was so excited about our oldschool chopper that he wanted to give special recognition to our work. What a motivation for us!
There was also more power for our production: To stay up to date and ready for anything, we welcomed a new large CNC machine, the Hermle C 32, and a handy 3-D scanner, the HandySCAN from Creaform. These two modern achievements help to offer you this variety of custom parts.
At the end of the summer our anniversary project was finished – a bike that has never been seen before from our halls! A great Chopper of superlatives, which reflects 35 years of work experience and the love for custom bikes.
And also with our Custombikes we have – as actually each year – became more exiting than ever. The workshops were busy throughout the year and we brought one custom bike after the other on the road.
