The Art of Transformation

The Blue Lion doesn’t boast chrome or bright colours. Nor does it boast flashy bling. And yet it still catches the eye. This is probably because we have perfected the ideal Harley-Davidson layout. In any case, the Blue Lion no longer resembles its former self, the FXBBS Street Bob.

We start at the rear

Our Flying Bob rear fender significantly contributes to the reduced silhouette, which is why we’re starting there this time. The fender struts have disappeared and the entire protruding Street Bob fender has been replaced by our Flying Bob.
The name of our fender is no coincidence. A flying fender is a mudguard that sits close to the tyre, hugging the rubber in all riding conditions and giving the impression of a rigid frame.

Flying Bob for self-assembly

We sell the Flying Bob as a self-assembly kit. However, we also use it for our own custom projects, which naturally allows us to get more out of it. For example, we use a swing arm conversion with a lowering and pulley brake conversion. This enables the brake disc to be moved from the right-hand side to the left-hand side, where it disappears between the wheel and the pulley. The result is an extremely clean show side.

We coordinate this with the other components. The spoke design of the brake disc complements the 18-inch FLH wheel, which is finished in two tones this time. The side licence plate holder with Inside licence plate also comes from our company. You can also purchase the compact 3-in-1 turn signals from us.

The tank also comes from us

In the case of a resonating fender, a saddle decoupled from the rear is necessary. However, we did not make the swing saddle ourselves; we gave Spirit Leather the honour of making it for us again. Before that, though, you can see the beautifully shaped custom aluminium tank produced by us.

The FLH wheels have a two-tone design, with 21-inch front and 18-inch rear sizes

We supply the steel fender that is designed to fit over the 21-inch wheel

At the front is a 21-inch FLH wheel with a spoke brake disc. This is topped with our steel fender and 32 Hollywood handlebars, which sit on our riser with an integrated instrument surround. The turn signals Stripe LED under the fittings are almost impossible to find once again, and the satin surfaces make the grips easy to grip. Torque toppers on the handlebar ends and our Joker mirrors provide the finishing touches.

But why is the Lion Bleu so understated? Not just because of its velvety paint job by Kruse Design? That’s right — you won’t see any chrome on the fork! We’ve DLC-coated the tubes. These letters stand for ‘Diamond Like Carbon’, a complex surface treatment that cannot simply be called ‘black chrome plating’. The fork has also been lowered, of course.

Classic silhouette

So that’s how you create a classic silhouette! It only works when all the components work together. Details such as the drilled power filter and the two-colour drilled clutch cover are just accents that you can afford, because everything has to be just right. Our French customer could afford it. Blue is his favourite colour — he is French, after all — and he was born under the sign of Leo. The Shorty Slashcuts from Jekill and Hyde now complete his look, which can be activated at the touch of a button. This enables him to make a lasting impression without any showmanship. Well done, Leo.
