Burning Eleven

customized Harley-Davidson FLTRXSTSE CVO Road Glide ST 121

When Two Worlds Come Together

Actually, Andreas’s heart beats especially for vintage bikes. But the CVO Road Glide ST has struck a chord that goes way back. Before custom bikes and Harley-Davidson became a part of his everyday life, he used to ride on the racetrack himself. So he’s well acquainted with the idea that a motorcycle isn’t just about looks—it has to perform.
That’s exactly what makes the CVO ST so appealing to him. It combines the laid-back character of a large Road Glide with a distinctly sportier side—and can still cover long distances with ease on the highway. This brings together two passions that, for a long time, seemed quite far apart.
Burning Eleven was born from this very combination.

Taking the Excavator Race DNA to the Next Level

The CVO Road Glide ST makes no secret of its ties to bagger racing right from the factory. And perhaps it had to be this particular motorcycle to get him excited about a modern Harley. After all, the interesting question here isn’t how to retrofit a tourer into a sporty custombike. Harley-Davidson has already built a large part of this concept right into the base model.

The distinctive Road Glide fairing, the sport-tuned chassis, and the 121 High Output engine set the tone. For our build, that meant not reinventing the wheel, but building on what was already there.
Our experience in racing played a key role here. Anyone who’s spent time on the racetrack sees a motorcycle differently. Ergonomics, brakes, tires, and suspension aren’t separate issues. Ultimately, they all have to work together. At the same time, he now understands the other side of things: cruising leisurely, carrying luggage, and simply covering ground on a long highway stretch.
Burning Eleven operates right between these two extremes. The CVO ST was meant to become sportier and more commanding without losing what makes a Road Glide great on long trips.

21-inch wheels, GT wheels, and a 340-mm brake system

The most significant change to the bike’s proportions is at the front. A 21-inch GT custom wheel up front and an 18-inch wheel in the rear give the Road Glide a distinctly sportier look. The three-piece design, featuring CNC-machined aluminum spoke hubs, bolted rim shells, and deep cutting, creates a striking, three-dimensional appearance.

The wheels are fitted with Pirelli Diablo Powercruiser tires in 130/60 B21 up front and 180/55 B18 in the rear. The sporty character, with plenty of grip and responsive steering, fits the Bagger Race concept—and the bike’s racing heritage. What matters here isn’t just the looks, but the synergy of the entire package.

Up front, 340-millimeter Thunderbike brake rotors in the Vegas Wave design are used. Adapter sleeves adapt the stock radial Harley-Davidson brake calipers to fit the larger rotors. This visually fills out the 21-inch wheel better and technically underscores the performance demands of the heavy touring bike.

The original carbon front fender was retained. Custom-made adapters position it slightly higher, creating space for the larger wheel. In addition, the originally matte carbon was given a glossy clear coat. A typical detail of this conversion: High-quality CVO components are not simply replaced, but specifically refined.

The driver's station must function properly

This approach is particularly evident in the rider’s position. The handlebars and foot position were not treated as individual styling elements, but as an integrated system.

The seven-inch-high Thunderbike Clubstyle Pullback riser supports the Thunderbike Club handlebars with a 6.5-centimeter pullback. Thanks to internal cable routing, the cockpit remains uncluttered despite its bold design. Base grips in satin black with Contrast Cut and Motogadget mirrors complement the sporty look.

The hydraulic clutch reduces the amount of manual force required, offering not only a technical aesthetic but also a functional advantage. For the conversion, we have developed a new cover for the brake assembly as well as a complete clutch reservoir made of CNC-machined aluminum with a striking Contrast Cut. The system is complemented by a specially developed slave cylinder and a matching cover for the master cylinder. The result is a technically sophisticated solution whose components also function as a unified design.

Thunderbike Mini-Floorboards are used for the feet. They combine the comfort of a footboard with more compact dimensions and a sportier look. These are complemented by the brake levers and brake pegs, as well as the shorter shift lever, shift peg, and modified shift linkage.

This way, the handlebar position, seating position, hands, and feet all work in harmony. It is precisely this combination of function and design that shapes the development of Thunderbike components.

Citrus Heat, Carbon, and Dark Technology

The intense red-orange of the Citrus Heat paint scheme contrasts with glossy black, carbon fiber, and dark accessories. The black GT wheels provide a sharp contrast to the paint scheme and enhance the Road Glide’s sporty appearance.
Some of the originally matte carbon fiber surfaces were finished with a glossy clear coat to blend more harmoniously into the high-gloss overall look. In addition, CNC-machined details such as the Torque 2.0 clutch cover and the gear sensor covers add technical accents without drawing undue attention to themselves.

The Jekill & Hyde Twenty-One Slashcut 2-in-1 exhaust system in Wrinkle Black extends the dark theme all the way to the side profile. At the rear, the higher and cleaner-looking license plate mount creates a more compact finish between the saddlebags. The inside plate and integrated license plate light reinforce this clean, uncluttered look.

The Burning Eleven combines the sporty DNA of bagger racing with the comfortable touring qualities of a Road Glide. Built for dynamic riding as well as for relaxed cruising on long trips.
