Dark is a safe bet

When Dante Alighieri described the Inferno, he said little about the colour black. And nothing there was dull black. But it was certainly dark, and anyone who ended up there had nothing to laugh about. How good we feel today when a ride on a dark Harley brings a smile to our face, and the blacker the Harley, the bigger the smile. It’s a little short on black, the original Fat Boy. The Americans prefer chrome. We have adapted it to our taste and added a few technical touches that we think are important for the overall impression.

The main aim was to reduce the light dominance of the original Lakester wheels. So we powder coated them black. The rear wheel also had to be repositioned. On the stock bike the rear brake disc is on the right side in front of the wheel. This disturbs the overall appearance and can be improved. With our Pulley brake system package, we have made the disc disappear to the left between the wheel and the pulley. This trick finally makes the rear look as clean as the front.

We then fitted a 260 tyre. Together with a lowering kit and the steel rear fender with hidden rear lights, the rear view now has more impact. The rear view is not obstructed by our Inside license plate either, as we have made them disappear into the inner side plate. The steel seat shell with Spirit Leather saddle matches the rest of the ensemble, and the result is a homogeneous rear end, massive and without annoying struts.

Massive front and rear

Massiveness also comes from the front. This is provided by our Atlas handlebars in the 35 cm high version. The wide handlebars also conceal the hydraulic lines. We even converted the clutch to hydraulic operation. The almost invisible stripe turn signals are unobtrusive, and the satin-finish grips are flattering to the touch.

Our GP long chin fairing adds a touch of sportiness. Our lightweight GRP Fat Boy fender sits snugly. The forward-mounted forward controls feature a bicolour satin finish and our Thunderbike toppers. Colour accents can be found on the pushrods and cylinder head. New custom ignition cover, torque clutch cover and airbox cover are the icing on the cake. Jekill and Hyde’s Shorty Slashcut mufflers are available for an infernal sound. However, they remain road legal in all conditions.

How Inferno works!

So that’s how we interpret the Inferno. Dark, but with a smile on its face and the unmistakable message that this is a Harley, almost certainly more Harley than factory. That’s why there are customisers who fearlessly descend into the depths of the Inferno at the customer’s request.
