Customising is our daily business
A custombike is never normal. But with the Deadwood, we have once again shown what is possible – from the road back to the workshop and then back out into the world as a completed custom bike.
Our daily business consists of two pillars: We rebuild brand new Harleys and give them the character that our customers want. At the same time, we refine used machines that have already covered a few miles and need to be taken to the next level with individual conversions.
In the case of the Deadwood, it was precisely this second category: a bike with history. It had already been on the road for a few years, with minor modifications here and there – until the major conversion was due. And that is exactly what drives us: Making a real statement out of every machine, whether brand new or with a living past.

More InformationThe swinging fender
But of course! It usually starts with a single component, so let us take a closer look at the Deadwood. The customer wanted a swinging fender. This is obvious when the base bike is a Street Bob, a bobber that quotes the outlines of the fifties and thus the look of a rigid frame whose rear fender must be close to the ground in any riding position.
We have the solution. Our kit is called Flying Slim and is custom made to fit the swingarm and bike, with the brackets welded to the swingarm. This was done after the bike came into our care, customising rear fender is part of our daily business.
Now also bolt-on
This time, however, we put the spotlight on our swinging fender, because we would like to mention that we now offer a bolt-on version of the fender for you to screw on yourself. You can find it under the name Flying Bob in our new catalogue for 2025. We offer it in two widths, 150 and 200 millimetres, and unlike the Flying Slim, nothing needs to be welded to the swingarm, as the Flying Bob can be bolted to the axle using lugs. Welded shock mounts are more elegant, of course. But you have to look closely to see the difference.
Our choice for a clean finish and the integration of the rear lights into the multi-function turn signals
We weld brackets to the swingarm for the Flying Slim fender. Our Flying Bob fender can also be bolted on
All options for finishing
When it comes to finishes, the sky’s the limit. In the catalogue we also show you one with a central tail light for a real old-style look.
In the case of the Deadwood, we went for the cleaner solution and fitted the struts with 3-in-1 turn signals that not only flash but also act as brake and tail lights. Of course, in such cases we leave the rear completely exposed. We added a side license plate holder and the inside license plate on the left.
On the right are the Jekill and Hyde shortys with the ever-legal sound. The manifolds have perforated heat protection plates. This matches the perforated struts, so it is no coincidence that the Spirit Leather swing saddle also has a perforated gallery.
The struts of our forward control kit are also perforated, as are those of our Joker mirrors and the housing of our Classic air cleaner. These small details turn the once unremarkable Street Bob into a one-of-a-kind custom bike.
The grips and footpegs have a satin finish for a good grip. We cleverly tucked our turn signals stripe led under the handlebars. And we also gave the Deadwood our Flip 2 handlebars, which we offer in a variety of styles and with different riser brackets.
Please take this opportunity to look again at the details, even those that are not immediately obvious. We have also slightly raised the front of the tank so that its line blends in with the now slightly steeper front end.
A bike that grows
With flip handlebars and a tank lift, the Deadwood literally grows with you, but it grows even more figuratively: You can make a bike grow with you,” says Julian in our Thundertalk. As a result, the bike has a career of its own, and its most important stage has now been its stay in our workshop.
