The cherry on top of the cream!
We always go the extra mile. This time, we’re taking on Don Performance! When professionals rave about each other, their judgement carries twice the weight. We are therefore honoured to be able to quote professional Harley stunt rider Chris Lietsch: ‘Thunderbike has put the cherry on top of the cream!’ His opinion is well-informed. He said this after riding our ‘Don Performance ST’ around the Venray oval in the Netherlands. After the ride, he raved about reaching speeds of up to 160 kilometres per hour.
All done right
We know that the CVO Road Glide ST has a lot to offer – even if it is limited to around 180 km/h ex works. But let’s be honest: on the oval track in Venray, Netherlands, with a lap length of just 880 meters, this is not for beginners anyway. Anyone pushing the limits here needs to know what they’re doing – this is professional-level riding.
This officially confirms that the chassis works. The original 19-inch tires had to go – typical Thunderbike, because we always strive to go one better. Now fitted are our high-quality, three-piece Digger wheels, 21 inches at the front and 18 inches at the rear. Not only do they make a real statement visually, they are also technically top-notch: extremely stable, sporty, and perfectly finished.
New: The wheels now have a symmetrical design, which not only looks more harmonious but also offers even more stable and precise handling. The black powder coating ensures that the rims blend perfectly into the overall look.

More InformationWe have also adapted the brakes to the new format. Our Floated Wave Spoke has a diameter of 340 millimeters instead of the standard 320 millimeters. The radially mounted brake caliper sits enthroned on our adapter. We have also raised the front fender by the necessary millimeters and finished it with clear lacquer – it looks really stylish. The original front spoiler has been repainted from black to white and perfectly rounds off the front end ensemble.
The 21-inch Digger wheel now features 340-millimetre brake discs that have been adapted to fit the radial caliper using our adapters.
Some may consider the paintwork to be a sin. Many of the fairing parts on the CVO are made of carbon fibre. We also have a wide range of carbon fibre parts. In fact, painting them could be considered an understatement. You can still see the base material on the fender, tank, and rear fender covers.
At the height of the front end
Having covered the external features, let’s now turn our attention to the height of the front end. We have fitted our Club handlebars and bolted them to our Clubstyle Pullback Riserkit. This gives the bike a sportier stance. The 160-metre oval provides a more secure grip, especially thanks to the satin-finish grips and shift pegs. By the way: Our mini floorboards also have the satin finish, and they are now available for models that are not from the ST range.
You won’t find this on any regular Harley, not even on a CVO model. We’re the only ones who offer a reservoir for a hydraulic clutch.
Don Perfomance CVO Road Glide ST
It pays off on long journeys
Then please take a look at the left-hand grip fitting. Unlike the standard CVO, you’ll see a hydraulic reservoir for the clutch, which we have converted from Bowden cable to hydraulic operation. We promise you it’s worth it on long journeys when you have to change gear frequently.
Re-adjusted running gear
It should be noted that we have, of course, made some adjustments to the suspension. This will also have contributed to Chris’s incredible top speed.
We also added a few cosmetic extras: toppers bearing an exclusive Don logo, a Stage 3 sound system and an Inside licence plate.
The Jekill and Hyde silencers are not just for show. They can be used not only on the racing oval, but also on public roads. They are completely legal at the highest permitted sound level.
By professionals for professionals
All in all, it’s a professional bike, made by professionals for professionals. Chris Lietsch was the test rider. However, the Don Performance ST delivers on its name. We have now given Don, the master of mapping, a new playground. The CVO Road Glide ST delivers an impressive 128 hp at 5020 rpm as standard. It cuts out at 190 km/h. We know it’s child’s play for Don to squeeze out even more power, as he’s a professional in this field. The Don Performance ST is a masterpiece of engineering and customisation. It’s also a playground — because it’s never too late for a happy childhood!
