La Purpura – Chrome Chicano with purple paintwork
A Chicano we haven’t built like this before – with chrome wheels, chrome fork, auxiliary headlights, panniers, and an unusual color.
Our Thunderbike triple clamp forms the basis for the Chicano conversion at the front. It provides the necessary rake to make the 23-inch front wheel possible.
Our 3-piece Digger wheel is installed, combined with a 340 mm brake disc and a narrow, chrome-plated PM brake caliper. The whitewall tires and spoked wheels subtly echo the classic heritage style. The front fender is deeply drawn at the sides, long and curved overall. This pushes the wheel even further into the fender, creating additional visual depth. To give the bike a particularly low profile when stationary, an Airride system is installed at the front. This places the main headlight close to the fender.

More InformationFor the first time, we have received the auxiliary headlights for a Chicano conversion. They emphasize the classic style and fit perfectly with the wide rear view with panniers. The chrome-plated LED inserts provide modern lighting technology, while the brackets and housing round off the overall look.

The saddlebags have been completely redesigned. They are inspired by late Panhead and early Shovelhead models, but are more elongated and adapted in shape to match the lines of the Chicano. To achieve clean lines, both saddlebags have been adapted so that they fit symmetrically on the bike. A new highlight are the external hinges, which were deliberately used as a design element and add additional chrome accents to the rear. The inside of the cases is lined with fleece.
The saddlebags make it impossible to use our side license plate holder. Instead, the down-and-inside license plate holder is used. Large turn signals complete the setup and echo the look of the dual headlights at the front.
Lowrider look thanks to upswept swing arm, air ride
To achieve the typical low look, the OEM swing arm was modified. New milled end pieces were welded on, raising the axle and lowering the wheel deeper into the fender. This design is called upswept. The rear fender is pulled low at the sides and deliberately made very long. The elongated silhouette is complemented by the long exhaust with fishtails. An air ride at the rear provides the typical lowrider show effect.
Paint & Leather
The paintwork adds the finishing touch: Chiko’s Pinstriping has created a striking but not overloaded look with the purple tone, combined with silver leaf and the consistent chrome theme.
The seat is from Jimmy. Elaborately embossed with a floral pattern and different types of leather, it is a truly unique piece and a visual highlight.
