There is always room for improvement
The Breakout has it all: an engine with a displacement that, as we all know, cannot be replaced by anything else, a drivetrain that can only be controlled by a real biker, and a top speed that has to be limited to just under 200 kph, or else there would be no end to its propulsion. Add to that a long layout that fulfills the desires and fantasies of every youngster who doesn’t know where to put his power. Forwards, of course!
We love the dragstyle
But it can always be better. Let’s face it: the series breakout is long, but only as long as a student who is too tall for his class. We can see that he’s going to pass his exams, but he’s not going to make the grade in sports. We give him a helping hand and then he’ll be able to get the girls.
In Thundertalk, our Andreas Bergerforth professes his love for this style, the only one that has held up over the years. That’s why our Razor 6.0 is not the first breakout we’ve made in this style. Its name says it all, it is the sixth. A good opportunity to once again draw on the full range of our Grand Prix series.
We start with our tank
It is the GP-Style aluminum tank, and it should be noted that it comes from our company as an in-house product. The combination of fuel pump and fuel gauge required in modern tanks means that it is no longer so easy to make your own tank in the corner of a backyard workshop. We have this tank with its bull neck and its wonderfully daring edges. Does it still resemble the sloping shoulders of a big schoolboy?
The rear fender and matching saddle are also GP, with well-hidden LED lights in the fender of course. Everything has been shortened to a minimum to express power with compactness, because a short tail is a sign of power.
The GP also features the triple tree with an additional three degrees of rake. These are added to the standard two degrees of the standard triple clamp, resulting in a total fork rake of five degrees. A high school student should be able to figure this out. What he learns from us is the resulting view of a squat front end.
Technoid Vegas wheels
This brings us to our wheels, this time from our Vegas Cut series with straight spokes and technoid bolts. Notice anything? At 21 inches in the front and 18 inches in the rear, they have the same dimensions as the standard Breakout. And yet everything is completely different. At the rear, this could be due to our disc brakes, which now hide the disc on the left side, giving a clear view of the entire wheel. At the front, we did not hide the disc, but increased it from 300 to 340 millimeters with our Vegas disc. This is possible thanks to our disk adapter and the radially bolted calipers.
This time, we gave the chassis Hyperpro suspension and our GP stub handlebar bolted directly to the upper tubes. All in the service of not only a chunky, sporty look, but also better handling. The mufflers are from Kess Tech, tuned with Screamin’ Eagle air filters. This also serves the drive.
We like to iron over this wonderful effort with our fine tuning. There are little things like our headlight cap, the side license plate holder, a front fender, now also made of metal, or the GP front spoiler. There are little things you shouldn’t and can’t see, like our Stripe turn signals. And there are little things like powder-coated engine parts and a black DLC coating on the fork stanchions, the most expensive but also the best surface treatment that can be applied to stanchions today.
Take a careful look!
And then there is the color of Chiko’s pinstriping. At first glance you would say “black”. But there is a lot going on in the color nuances, and who is going to give the Razor 6.0 just a cursory glance? We advise everyone to take a good look, because this is drag style, unconditional Grand Prix, and when the rider gets on it, it disappears very quickly towards the horizon in a mighty thunderclap.
