When classic V-twin DNA meets a futuristic design.
ㅤ
A Harley-Davidson Breakout thrives on clean lines, a powerful presence, and the unmistakable character of the Milwaukee-Eight engine. With the Red Nexus, we’ve taken that very DNA and combined it with a distinctly more futuristic design.
The base model is a Harley-Davidson FXBR 117 Breakout, which, thanks to targeted modifications, has a much more distinctive look. Instead of completely reinventing the bike, we deliberately worked with the existing proportions and made adjustments in just the right places.
The result is a Breakout with a powerful, clean look, where the interplay of deep red, black, shiny metal surfaces, and subtle graphic elements really catches the eye.
A Clear Line
The original Breakout wheels should be retained. That’s why we didn’t install a new set of wheels, but instead deliberately incorporated the existing wheels into the new design. For the front, we added our steel front fender for the original 21-inch front wheel. Its sleek shape makes the front look more streamlined and, together with the Hollywood Light handlebars, blends harmoniously into the bike’s new lines.
The handlebars not only provide the right look but also ensure a comfortable riding position. With its black finish, the Hollywood Light handlebar blends perfectly into the bike’s new front-end design. The risers and triple clamps were also powder-coated black to match the overall look. Our Satin grips and Torque Topper grips echo the clean design and neatly round out the handlebar.

Circuitry Meets Custom Art
The real standout feature of the Red Nexus is, without a doubt, Chiko's paint job.
The bold red gives the bike a strong presence at first glance. But upon closer inspection, it becomes clear that there’s much more going on here. A “Circuitry” pattern has been integrated into the paint job. The delicate lines, for which Chiko is known, are reminiscent of conductor tracks and electronic circuits, lending the classic V-twin a deliberately futuristic touch.
It is precisely this contrast that makes the paint job so interesting: On a classic Harley silhouette, the pattern initially looks almost like a technical component, yet the handcrafted finish preserves the character of a genuine custombike.
On the tank and side panels, the Circuitry pattern creates an exciting contrast to the Breakout’s classic shape. The fine lines provide a deliberate counterpoint to the clean surfaces and the intense red paint job.
Right down to the leather
The design was consistently carried through to the seat as well.
Jimmy from Spirit Leather crafted the seat specifically for the Red Nexus. It features a combination of suede and smooth leather.
The B emblem stands for the customer’s nickname, which also appears on the covers. The pattern featured on the seat is inspired by the technical look of the Circuitry Pattern, while the red stitching echoes the bike’s color scheme. In this way, the individual elements of the seat reflect the design of the Red Nexus and consistently carry the concept forward.
It’s details like these that ultimately make all the difference: Chiko and Jimmy work in different fields, yet they pursue the same creative vision.
Their individual styles complement each other, blending the paintwork and the seat into an unified work of art.
Clean Rear
ㅤ
One thing really stands out about the Red Nexus when you look at it from the back: the rim has plenty of space.
Our pulley brake system is one of the reasons for this. As a result, the rear wheel looks much more open, and the original Breakout rim really stands out.
For the Red Nexus, the pulley was additionally anodized in glossy black. This allows it to blend in visually with the bike’s black components without completely disappearing.
We’ve also made room for the license plate. Our side-mounted license plate holder is positioned on the left side of the rear and dramatically enhances the look around the tire and rim.
A side license plate holder with matching lighting adds depth and gives the vehicle a more premium look.
For the rear, we’ve opted for our handcrafted steel fender with an integrated taillight and turn signals. Its clean lines echo the width of the rear wheel while making the bike appear more compact.
We’ve also fitted a Metzeler Cruisetec in 260/40 VR18 at the rear. This preserves the typical Breakout silhouette but, thanks to the fender and add-on parts, gives it a much stronger sense of our signature style.

Details & Features
Red Nexus is all about attention to detail. In addition to the overall design, it’s the small components in particular that consistently carry the concept forward and give the bike its own unique character.
As mentioned at the beginning, we’ve equipped the Hollywood Light handlebars with our Satin grips and Torque toppers. The Torque design language is also evident in other parts of the bike. The clutch cover and the Torque 2.0 airbox cover each feature the custom “Bretzibike” engraving, a personal nod to the customer’s nickname. This makes the components a personal touch of the build, which is also reflected in the B emblem on the seat. The black finishes echo the bike’s dark elements and create a harmonious contrast to the red paint job.
The Jekill & Hyde exhaust system was also visually adapted to the concept. The black, angled tailpipes blend perfectly into the bike’s dark aesthetic, giving it a more striking look and the right sound.
None of the installed details stands alone, because it is the interplay of the individual components that makes the Red Nexus the bike it is. The customization impressively demonstrates how much character can be created through a few targeted changes.
