MontanaBlacks Thunder ST – Now in Detail
Ever since it became known that Marcel Eris – better known as MontanaBlack – was getting his motorcycle license, one question in particular has been on everyone’s mind: Which bike will he end up riding? There was speculation on social media about the base model, the customization, and the design. With the unveiling at the Jokerfest, we finally got our first look at the Thunder ST. Now comes the official photo shoot – and with it, the opportunity to showcase all the details of this extraordinary custom build.
When Marcel decided to get his motorcycle license in his late 30s, it quickly became clear to us: There wouldn’t be a stock Harley in his garage in the end. Together, we created a Low Rider ST that perfectly suits his taste.
For us, Marcel’s entry into the world of motorcycling sends a powerful message. He reaches millions of people and, above all, inspires a younger generation. Perhaps that’s exactly what will encourage more young people to discover the joy of motorcycling. Because that’s what it’s all about: motorcycling connects generations and inspires people – regardless of age. That’s why we’re thrilled to welcome Marcel to the Harley-Davidson community.
From Our First Meeting to a Joint Project
We first met Marcel at the motorcycle show in Dortmund. That’s where the collaborative GÖNRGY Sportster S from Harley-Davidson Hamburg was unveiled—the bike that kicked off his Harley-Davidson journey. It quickly became clear, however, that this motorcycle was primarily intended for promotional purposes.
That’s why we invited him to Hamminkeln and showed him what’s possible at Thunderbike. It didn’t take long to figure out which model was the perfect fit for him: the Low Rider ST.
It combines a sporty look, modern touring design, and outstanding handling – the ideal foundation for someone who’s just getting their motorcycle license and is looking for a bike with character.
Marcel gave us almost complete freedom. There was only one requirement: The paint job should be black and white.

More InformationThe inspiration for the paint job came from our legendary Outerlimit, which we built a few years ago for a customer to match his Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4. Ingo Kruse has reinterpreted the design.

More InformationGrand Reveal at our Jokerfest
The big moment took place at our Jokerfest: Together with you guys, we unveiled the finished bike for the first time. After many weeks of planning, development, and customization, MontanaBlack got to experience his new custom bike in person for the first time.
Of course, we captured the entire unveiling and Monte’s first reaction. In the video, you’ll see the whole reveal and hear what Monte himself has to say about his new bike.
Just click on the video and relive that special moment.
The striking black-and-white paint scheme with its red accents evokes the look of classic motorsport vehicles. Sharp lines, graphic contrasts, and precisely placed highlights give the Thunder ST a dynamic presence even when stationary.
Ingo Kruse has modernized the design language of the Outerlimit and refined it with great attention to detail. Every contour follows the shape of the motorcycle, creating a seamless transition between the fairing, fuel tank, and saddlebags to form a harmonious whole.
In the style of a true race bike, the selected logos also blend seamlessly into the design. Brands such as Screamin’ Eagle, Harley-Davidson, Jekill & Hyde, and Don Performance complement the overall concept and give the Thunder ST its unmistakable racing look. The subtly integrated lettering underscores its sporty character.
One of my personal favorites is the pair of white suitcases with the LM logo. The initials stand for Lea and Marcel – a little tribute to ensure that a piece of home is always on board every time we go for a drive.
Bigger. Sportier. More aggressive.
The wheels play a key role in the new silhouette.
Up front, the front wheel has grown from 19 to 21 inches, and in the rear from 16 to 18 inches. These new proportions alone transform the Low Rider ST’s entire appearance. The bike looks longer, lower, and significantly sportier.
We use our GT wheels. These three-piece wheels are milled entirely in-house from high-strength aluminum and represent the highest standard of manufacturing quality.
The striking V-spoke design gives the wheels a dynamic look. Multiple levels, the elegant contrast cut, visible bolt connections, and the finely crafted rim bowl create an impressive sense of depth.

Details That Make All the Difference
Up front, DLC-coated fork tubes provide a sleek, dark look while ensuring responsive handling.
Our Pro Performance triple clamp, combined with the 9-inch Club Riser and Club handlebars, creates a relaxed, upright riding position and offers maximum control—whether on winding country roads or long tours.
The turn signals, developed specifically for the Low Rider ST, are discreetly hidden beneath the fairing bracket, ensuring a clean front view. Motogadget mirrors, satin-finish grips, and the laser-etched LM engraving on the top covers add high-quality accents down to the smallest detail.
A real highlight is the hydraulic clutch conversion. Featuring a new slave cylinder cover, clutch assembly, certified brake lever, and master cylinder cap—all in glossy black with a Contrast Cut finish—it not only creates a harmonious look but also noticeably reduces the operating force required.
The forward-mounted Phantom footrest system with SPS footrests impresses with its sporty look, featuring precise cutouts and a high-quality Contrast-Cut finish. The overall look is complemented by the passenger footrests in a satin finish.
The engine and transmission have been completely powder-coated in glossy black and accented with red highlights. To match, red ignition cables add striking color accents. A flush-mounted fuel cap emphasizes the clean lines of the design.
At the front and rear, axle covers ensure that the fork legs and rear axle appear as if cast from a single piece, perfectly rounding out the overall look.
The Jekill & Hyde Twenty One 2-in-1 exhaust system delivers the perfect sound. It produces a powerful, distinctive sound at the push of a button and is practically a must-have for the Low Rider ST.
At the rear, the Inside Plate with integrated license plate light and the delicate Stripe Mini turn signals create a particularly clean finish.
The Saddlemen seat offers optimal support even during sporty riding while ensuring high comfort on long rides.
The overall package is rounded out by the dark-tinted Klock Werks windshield. The striking bulges along the outer edges give the Low Rider ST an even more aggressive front end—without compromising wind protection.
Now we’re looking forward to seeing Monte’s first streams and videos on his Thunder ST. We wish him safe riding and lots of fun with his new bike.
