Kick-Off 2025

Rooftop Vibes Vol.9

Harley-Davidson Euro Festival

Harley-Davidson Euro Festival at Saint-Tropez

From Bavaria to Saint-Tropez: our road trip to the Euro Festival

Sometimes you don’t need a grand master plan – just an occasion that calls for freedom on two wheels. This year, that was clearly the Harley-Davidson Euro Festival in Saint-Tropez. And because we’d never been there before, we knew right away: this time we’re going!

So we got our bikes ready, contacted a few friends, and set off – from Hamminkeln, across Bavaria, through Switzerland, and down to the Côte d’Azur. Here’s our travel report with everything that goes with it: breakdowns, pizza, panoramic views – and, of course, plenty of Harley vibes.

More Information

First stop: Bavaria – mechanics' dreams & clutch fever

With four people – Andreas, Glatzzo, Kim, and Felix – we headed south. Kim and Felix had just come from a small chopper meet, but unfortunately Kim’s Iron wasn’t up for more after that: the clutch was shot.
So we made a stop at Classik Bikes in Bavaria. They didn’t have any spare parts, but they did give us a very special insight into the world of classic Harleys. Wendelin, the young boss, builds elaborate custom bikes here, among other things – all with great attention to detail and a keen eye for history. And as if that wasn’t cool enough, Pascal was there too – the founder of the workshop and a self-confessed collector. Knuckles, pans, rare US car parts and lots of stories – a real highlight of our trip. Thanks to the guys for the warm welcome!

Second stop: Switzerland – bobbers, rolls, and a living room vibe

After a quick pit stop for coffee, rolls, and apple pie, we continued on toward Switzerland. There, Raini from Bobber Garage was waiting for us. We hadn’t made it to the grand opening, but now we could finally check out his new shop.

What awaited us? A mixture of workshop and living room, bar and bike shop, showroom and mechanic’s garage. Small space, big impact – and cool projects everywhere. If you want to see more, check out our video. All we’ll say is this: it’s worth it!

Off to the south – tolls, pizza, and the Côte d'Azur

The last eight hours of our journey took us across the Swiss Alps towards Saint-Tropez. And yes, we admit it: sitting in a Sprinter instead of on a bike hurts a little. But it was quicker – and we had time for one of the best motorway service station pizzas ever.
We arrived in Grimaud, found our Airbnb, and after a few initial difficulties, we moved in. We unloaded our bikes and headed straight to our friends, who had already found an awesome restaurant. Two beers, good food, old stories, new plans – the perfect start to the festival weekend.

Curves, coastline, and chopper feeling

The next morning started in classic French style: coffee, croissants, helmets on and off we went. We picked out a route and cruised through the mountains. Bend after bend, magnificent views and empty roads – exactly how you imagine southern France on a bike.
Our destination was Gonfaron, where we treated ourselves to an ice cream before continuing on to the bike show in Grimaud – an absolute highlight! Awesome bikes, relaxed people, everything was perfectly organized. After that, we set off for the main event of the Euro Festival, which we only found after a few wrong turns (thanks, team navigation). But everything was fine in the end: we got our wristbands and explored the grounds.
The festival grounds were awesome: great exhibitors, a chill vibe, and right on the beach. After checking out the new Icon Fat Boy, we enjoyed a cold drink with a view of the sea. What more could a biker’s heart desire?

In the evening, we made a detour to a chopper meetup nearby. Despite the late hour, we were able to see some really cool bikes—with vibes somewhere between California and southern France.

Last day: Verdon Gorge & Chopper Art

Last day, last round. Destination: the famous Verdon Gorge – and what can we say: fantastic! The route there is just great fun. On the way, we stumbled across a small lake with a surfer vibe and delicious baguettes.
And then – just when we thought the views were over – another spectacular canyon appeared around the next bend. Amazing. A must-see for anyone traveling in the area.
In the evening, we went back to Choppers & Co, where a small event was taking place. Artists, collectors, live music, custom bikes – a wild mix somewhere between rumbling engines and bohemian spirit. Unfortunately, we were a little late, but what we did see was fantastic.

Conclusion: More than just a festival

Our trip to the Euro Festival was more than just a bike event. It was a road trip, a discovery tour for mechanics, a reunion with friends, a vacation, an adventure – all at once. And all of that with the sound of V-Twins in our ears and the sun of southern France on our faces.
Thanks to everyone who made this trip so special. We’ll be back – no question about it!
