In the throes of speed: Oschersleben
FRANKFURT (8.10.2024) – After the races in Hockenheim and at the Nürburgring, the final of the German Endurance Cup (DLC) took place on October 3 at the Motorsport Arena Oschersleben – and Harley-Davidson was right in the middle of it! The event was a spectacle for all the senses: thrilling action, exciting maneuvers and pure excitement at every pit stop, overtaking maneuver and every corner.
Riders Thilo Günther and Andreas Schäfer (Team Performance Baggers) and Yves Grund and Christoph Lietsch (Team Hooligan Bikes). Both teams competed in the Superbike class, in which machines with two- or three-cylinder engines of over 1,000 cm³ and at least 90 hp at the rear wheel compete against each other. During the summer break, the teams had developed their motorcycles down to the smallest detail in order to take them to a new level. The bikes “Lap Record” and “Plan B”, based on the Harley-Davidson Sportster S and Pan America 1250 models, as well as “Lil Baggy” and “From Road to Race”, based on the Road Glide ST, were developed by Harley-Davidson Rhein-Neckar, Harley-Davidson Düsseldorf and Dr. Jekill & Mr. Hyde. Support was also provided by Wilbers Products, Metzeler, Don Performance, Thunderbike Harley-Davidson Niederrhein and Parts Europe.
Despite an unfortunate crash, the Performance Baggers team bravely finished the race with just one rider and one bike. The Hooligan Bikes team just missed out on the top 10 in their class with “Lap Record” and “Plan B”.
