With its classic factory-custom style, the new Super Glide stays true to the model’s roots while reinterpreting its character for today’s generation of riders.
There has not yet been any official confirmation regarding the launch in the German-speaking market. In the U.S., the Super Glide is set to be available starting at $15,999 and will be limited to a total of 2,500 units.
Anyone who would like to get a first impression can explore the bike in the configurator on the Harley-Davidson USA website and virtually install various genuine accessories there.

The Spirit of the First Super Glide
The Super Glide 2026 deliberately draws on classic factory-custom DNA. The “White Onyx Pearl” paint scheme and vintage tank graphics are a direct nod to the 1971 FX Super Glide, which is considered one of the very first factory customs ever built.
To complement this, chrome, tubeless spoked wheels, mini-ape handlebars, mid-controls, and the 19-liter fuel tank create the authentic look of a classic cruiser.
Beneath its nostalgic exterior, however, lies modern technology: The Milwaukee-Eight 117 V-Twin produces 98 PS and delivers a maximum torque of 120 Nm. With a seat height of just 64 cm, the Super Glide remains true to its relaxed cruiser character and promises a particularly accessible riding position.
Classic Genes, Modern Platform
Design
The return of the Super Glide is marked by a limited edition of just 2,500 motorcycles worldwide. Each model bears a unique serial number on the fuel tank console, underscoring that this is a very special chapter in Harley-Davidson history.
The teardrop-shaped 19-liter fuel tank is one of the most distinctive design elements of the new Super Glide. Painted in “White Onyx Pearl” and featuring continuous tank graphics with classic red-and-blue stripes, it clearly echoes the style of the 1971 FX.
Thus, the Super Glide remains firmly rooted in its own history, yet it doesn’t come across as a purely retro bike, but rather as a modern continuation of this legendary factory-custom concept.
The trimmed rear fender, the flat passenger seat, and the freestanding rear tire give the Super Glide exactly the sleek silhouette you’d expect from a classic Factory Custom. The design is deliberately inspired by the minimalist California cruisers that have defined Harley-Davidson’s style for decades.
With its chrome-plated Mini-Ape handlebars and mid-controls, the Super Glide offers a classic cruiser riding position. Relaxed enough for longer rides, yet active enough to maintain a good feel for the bike at all times.
Anyone who loves the classic Harley-Davidson look will feel right at home here. Chrome accents, tubeless spoked wheels, polished hubs, and chrome-plated rims deliver exactly the timeless custom look you’d expect from a Super Glide. Modern technology, such as tire pressure monitoring, works discreetly in the background.
Performance
Power comes from the Milwaukee-Eight 117 Classic V-Twin, with 98 PS and 120 Nm of torque. It delivers its power very smoothly, making it a perfect match for the Super Glide’s character. Whether you’re cruising leisurely through the city, riding on country roads, or embarking on longer tours – the engine delivers a confident riding experience in every situation.
The 2-in-1 exhaust system also complements the Super Glide’s character. It promotes smooth power delivery and direct responsiveness, while preserving the familiar, deep sound of the Milwaukee-Eight V-Twin.
To ensure that the Super Glide not only has a classic look but also offers modern riding comfort, it features a concealed monoshock with hydraulic preload adjustment. This allows the suspension to be easily adjusted to different load conditions while maintaining the bike’s clean and uncluttered lines.
Even the original FX was designed to deliver a lighter and more responsive ride at the front. The new 2026 Super Glide continues this approach with modern technology. The 49-mm fork ensures stability and confident handling, while remaining visually true to the classic Factory Custom style.
Innovation
The Super Glide stays true to its style in the cockpit as well. The classic analog speedometer on the fuel tank gives it a traditional look, while an integrated LCD display provides modern features and riding information. A successful combination of timeless design and cutting-edge technology.
Beneath its classic exterior lies modern Harley-Davidson technology. With Road, Sport, and Rain riding modes, the Super Glide’s handling can be adapted to different conditions, while cornering ABS, traction control, slip control, and tire pressure monitoring provide additional safety.
In addition to the major technical innovations, many details have also been thoughtfully implemented. For example, the Super Glide features an adjustable front brake lever that can be customized to fit hand size and personal preferences. This enhances comfort and ensures a pleasant riding experience on every ride.
What makes this special is that the technology doesn’t take center stage, but rather discreetly enhances the riding experience in the background. This preserves the Super Glide’s original character while adding the capabilities of a modern platform.
