Low for Show - air rides for the up and down trend

For custom bikes, optics has a very special significance. Air-ride systems are almost a must-have for a showstepper. By means of these air suspensions, the bike can be lowered from a driving-friendly level, at the push of a button on an ultra-flat show optics and just as quickly pump up again. Thunderbike shocks are available for the Yamaha XV 1600 and XVS 1100, Suzuki M1800 and VL 1500, all Softail (Twin Cam, TC ABS and Evo) and all Touring V-Rod, Muscle and Dyna models. As far as the design is concerned, we made no compromises and set great store by quality and functionality.

Dyna, VRSC & Muscle

The VRSC and Muscle models, as well as the Dynas are characterized among other things by external damper units. For this reason, we have put special emphasis on an appealing look when developing suitable air ride dampers. The polished stainless steel surface adapts perfectly to the style of these machines. But if you prefer the dark look, you can also get a glossy black or matt coating instead.

In order to be able to lower the tail section, the original ones are completely replaced by our pneumatic dampers. The only additional component that can be skilfully hidden is an additional 12V compressor. The compressed air hoses, which are also included in the scope of delivery, can also be laid almost invisibly. Although it may seem so at first sight, the exchange should be made by us or an experienced workshop.

Softail

The Softail models, but also many custom bikes that build on a similar framework concept, are characterized mainly by the star frame look. The trick consists in a mostly triangular swingarm, and dampers, which are mounted under the bike, almost invisible. The dampers can be exchanged relatively easily against the Air Ride dampers manufactured by us. The additional compressor, is mounted in the immediate vicinity, as invisible. The printing cylinders are made of high quality stainless steel, which in turn guarantees maximum quality.

Thanks to the Softail principle, there is no visual difference on the outside. However, here too, the conversion must be done either at Thunderbike or by another qualified specialist workshop.

Yamaha XV1600, XVS1100, Suzuki M1800, VL 1500

Depending on the model, the suspension can be adjusted approximately 10 cm in height with these shock absorbers. At the touch of a button, the bike can be adjusted to absolutely deep optics for the show or to a lot of ground clearance for cornering. The dampers can be exchanged relatively easily against the Air Ride dampers manufactured by us. The additional compressor, is mounted in the immediate vicinity, as invisible. The printing cylinders are made of high quality stainless steel, which in turn guarantees maximum quality.

From the outside, no optical difference can be detected. However, here too, the conversion must be carried out either at Thunderbike or by a qualified specialist workshop.

Frontend

We have developed a complete front end with integrated Air Ride system especially for high-quality custom bikes. Based on the design principle of a classic Springer fork, it can be used to lower the entire front end and lift it in just a few seconds with the help of a hidden micro switch. The kit contains all required components.

These include CNC milled bridges as well as two air cylinders, an additional compressor, all hoses and connectors, fork tubes and brake anchor. Thanks to our in-house production, these components can be tailored to individual requirements. Before you buy, you should take the opportunity to get detailed advice from our qualified sales staff. Thus, it can be ensured that you get a high-quality product that fits perfectly to your best piece afterwards. Of course, this also applies here, that the assembly must be made either by us, or by a suitably qualified workshop.
