„Orange Wall“ for Big Twin Models
METZELER presents new ideas for tire design at Custombike 2017
Only black was yesterday: At the METZELER booth at the Custombike exhibition, a tire with orange sidewalls can be seen for the first time. With a visitor survey, the manufacturer gathers the reactions to new design options in this area. In addition, attractive exhibits from the luxury manufacturer Thunderbike lure the custom bike fans to the stand of the German tire brand.
Munich, November 23, 2017 – METZELER breaks new ground at this year’s Custombike in Bad Salzuflen. At the booth (Hall 21, Stand E09) of the traditional German brand, the ME888 Marathon in an “Orange Wall” version will be presented from 1 to 3 December 2017 as the German premiere. The “Orange Wall” version offers a delightful contrast to the variants of the ME888 Marathon available so far on the market. The tires with the exclusive color scheme are presented on a genuine Thunderbike, based on a Harley-Davidson Softail Slim. With this highlight, METZELER wants to gather feedback on the new tire design among the custom bike fans.
“We deliberately chose Custombike as the world’s largest show of converted bikes for this purpose, as visitors here are particularly receptive to new trends,” explains Martin Schaumlöffel, Marketing Manager at METZELER. “Obviously choosing Orange’s corporate color from Harley-Davidson for our test run with colored side walls was obvious, as many of the bikes here are based on a Milwaukee Big Twin. We are very curious to see how these colored prototype tires reach the customizers and their customers. Mass production is definitely not an option. “In any case, it may be worth filling in one of the” Orange Wall “questionnaires available at the show, as METZELER is giving away one set of ME888 Marathon of choice among all participants.
At METZELER, however, it is not just the tires that are individual: even those who want a new professional design for their motorcycle helmet are right at the brand stand with the elephant in their logo. The well-known Belgian artist and airbrush artist Roland Groteclaes will visit METZELER on 2 and 3 December 2017, where he will provide the visitors’ helmets with an individually selectable, sophisticated design.
But that’s not all – visitors to the fair in Bad Salzuflen will be able to see for the last time at the METZELER stand the grand prize of the big 2017 promotional raffle around the marathon tire family. The Harley-Davidson Sportster 48, worth some 20,000 euros, also refined by Thunderbike, will officially be handed over to the lucky winner at the fair.
