The Final of the Harley-Davidson Battle of the Kings Contest 2017
After the success of last year Andreas and Kim are back for very special offspring in the Dark Custom family. The “Black Power” Iron 883! It is the successor of last year’s winner of the Battle of the Kings Germany and this year it impresses with its solid black line paired with striking red accents and a contrast cut look from the new Harley-Davidson Rail Collection. Due to the many years of experience of Andreas and the young style of Kim, the team managed to bring the two elements together for the new bike.
If you take a closer look at the bike, you will notice the love of detail and hand-crafted parts, inspired by the drag style and some elements from the 70s that are currently very much in vogue. The shocks with red powdered springs from Burly, the handcrafted black seat with red stitching reaching far to the rear fender, the red powdered pushrods and the lower Rocker Box Covers are just a few of the special touches. To bring the bike safely to a standstill on the quarter mile, the red High Performance caliper kits are installed as an additional eye catcher from the P & A accessory. Instead of a front fender, we decided to stabilize the fork for a stylish Fork Brace from our own production. Air filters, derby covers, timer covers, primary covers and gear covers have been added to the new H-D Rail Collection. The original H-D 48 OEM tank is adorned with the H-D Diamond Black gas cap. Other items from the Thunderbike smithy include the “Café Racer” lamp covers, the chain conversion kit, the turn signals on the front, the ignition coil set, the side license plate holder with Inside-Plate and the tank lift. Kim is looking forward to the upcoming season with her bike!
As part of the Hamburger Motorcycle Days, the final of the Harley-Davidson Battle of the Kings 2017 competition took place this year. We made it again among the best! Without your online vote this would not have been possible! An expert jury of journalists has decided who will be the “Battle of the Kings 2017” at the national level.
First place went to Tom Pfeiffer of Harley-Davidson Pfeiffer Second place went to Harley-Davidson Mountain Road and the lucky third was reserved for us (Thunderbike) this year. It was a great show!
