100th Anniversary
Celebrating all around the Globe!
In 2003, the 100th Anniversary was celebrated around the globe: Tokyo, Sydney, Barcelona, Hamburg, Toronto were the big stops – and of course Milwaukee: at the end of August, the city vibrated to the pounding of the V-Twins, many of them in the 100th Anniversary Edition colors of silver and black.
For many bikers, the only weak point of the mega-celebration was the appearance of Sir Elton John, who appeared as a “surprise guest”. Those who were there were able to experience how “Captain Fantastic” emptied the festival grounds within a very short time. From, lets say, insiders, word was that Bruce Springsteen had cancelled due to a better paid double gig in New York. Nevertheless, the celebrations for the 100th birthday were a huge business for the city of Milwaukee, which is why Harley-Davidson was gladly given the “key to the city” for 2008.
