Harley-Davidson Modelljahr 2021

Virtual launch of the new models

Would you like a little bit more?

This is Harley’s 2021 model year: The Street Bob gets the 114 engine, the Fat Boy an extra portion of chrome, the Breakout will only be available as a 114 and some Touring shine in nice new clothes, especially the exclusive CVO models. We have to do without the Sportster, Street, FXDR, Deluxe and Low Rider.

This is really new for Harley-Davidson:

In a recording lasting around 40 minutes, the company’s chief designers and engineers provided information about the 2021 model year. The previous presentations were firstly not public and secondly traditionally in August.

Now CEO Jochen Zeitz and the siblings Karen and Bill Davidson did not miss the opportunity to even speak personally to the Harley riders and enthusiasts.

Jochen Zeitz took a tour of the Harley-Davidson Museum, getting the worldwide assembled fan community of several hundred thousand participants in the mood for the new motto “United we will ride”.

The children of legendary designer Willie G. Davidson were very enthusiastic about the even fatter-looking Fat Boy, which now shines all around in real chrome and has the usual wide wheels (160 front and 240 rear).

Bill Davidson introduced the Fat Boy 114 as one of the most visually impressive bikes in the Harley-Davidson portfolio.

In 2021 it comes in a brighter outfit: drivetrain, exhaust, front end, instrument console and the rear fender holders are now bright chrome instead of matte.

Starting with the new model year, we will have to do without two beloved models: There will be no more Sportys in Europe, they do not meet the Euro 5 standard.

The FXDR, from which we have built such popular customs as the Roar, has also unfortunately no longer made it into the program.

But don’t worry: We have already started to use another Softail as a basis for our custom bikes in this style. The Breakout, also a very popular model, will remain with us, but only with the larger 114cc engine, which is extremely appropriate for the sporty style of this model.

And what else? The entry into the Harley world with the Softail Standard 107 gets a little more expensive and the Street Bob gets the 114 engine and very chic new paint jobs.

As before, it is a nice chopper with a mini-apehanger, short tail and easy to handle tire size. With a seat pad and rear pegs, a pillion can now ride along.

You don’t have to be a prophet to predict a bright future for the Street Bob as the lightest Softail with excellent handling characteristics and the more powerful engine.

Of course, the Touring models are especial chic and comfortable. The highlights are the Road King Special, the Road Glide Special and the Street Glide Special, three “Hot Rod Baggers” with powerful exteriors and the powerful Milwaukee-Eight 114 engine.

Confident handling and the good long-distance characteristics of the comfortable Harley-Davidson Touring suspension are included, as is the choice between a black finish or chrome features.

Also designed for the most discerning of our customers, the 2021 CVO models feature exclusive paint schemes, advanced technologies and great attention to detail. The 117cc Milwaukee Eight, the most powerful engine available as standard, is exclusive to these four limited edition premium CVO models.

The CVO portfolio for 2021 includes the CVO Limited, CVO Street Glide and CVO Road Glide two-wheeled models and the CVO Tri Glide trike. Each CVO model features new paint schemes and graphics.

In the CVO Road Glide and CVO Street Glide models, a new high-fidelity Stage II Harley Davidson audio system from Rockford Fosgate provides musical entertainment. The new high-performance components are designed specifically for Harley-Davidson motorcycles and are said to feature Stage II triaxial speakers for excellent sound.

And what’s next?

Towards the end of the presentation, a few appetizers flashed up, such as the “Bare Knuckle” with a raised exhaust and the new 60° Revolution engine, which is also in the Pan America.

On Feb. 22 at 5 p.m., the Pan America will be one of the next new models to be unveiled live and for everyone to see.

Harley-Davidson CEO Jochen Zeitz was in Kenya with actor Jason Momoa to show the “Pan Am” in action. After a registration you will be sent the link to the launch of the video.
