A Sportster becomes a Silver Streak with just a few details
Want a professional Custombike? The first step doesn’t have to be a huge one. With just a few details, a Sportster becomes a Silver Streak.
The Sportster once had a reputation as an entry-level Harley. The company is working successfully to completely change this reputation within a few years. Yet the Sportster RH 1250 S was only launched in 2021.
Anyone who has taken a ride on this cannonball knows that the new Sportster is in a whole new league. Its torque-designed engine, the Revolution Max 1250 T, makes a significant contribution to this. It tears chunks out of the tarmac, and does so in a wonderfully designed, drag-style riding position: every traffic light becomes the starting line for a new sprint!
WE START AT THE BACK
We have adapted the layout to the new philosophy. Because this philosophy goes against the grain of many an older Harley rider, this time we are going against the grain and starting at the back.
Admittedly, this is where the most urgent action is needed on a standard Sportster. Once the rear bar is removed, it opens up the view of the rear rubber and the Sportster suddenly becomes a different motorcycle.
You can call it “tidying up”. We have the components for this with our “Medium Pro” side license plate holder and with our rear light and blinker kit on a delicate nothing of wafer-thin struts.
So on the left is the license plate holder, on the right is the Apex Slashcut silencer from Jekill and Hyde. Notice anything? That’s right: the Jekill only has one pipe. This eliminates the overloaded massiveness of the standard model on both flanks. Our Silver Streak has already become more masculine, it is more sinewy, it is more technical.
Embodiment of sinewy technology
Now we just have to stick to this idea as we move forward. Our clutch cover, ignition cover, pulley cover, alternator cover and radiator cover embody this sinewy technology with eye-catching clarity thanks to the bicolor surface treatment: bright metal meets metallic black and suggests a technical nakedness, as if we could see through it.
We made everything especially for the Sportster. Our dashboard package with footrests and handlebar grips from our SP-S range is a perfect match, as is the windshield from the same range, naturally with a bracket in Bicolor.
The stripe indicators at the front are not visible, so we can see how even a single detail, namely the SPS radiator cover, can give the front end a more technical background. Powder-coated rocker boxes and heat plates provide the final accent in this layout.
