“You have a pulse of steel…”
Grönemeyer and Co. could have written a puff piece about this bike, like they did about Bochum and the whole Ruhr Area. Our client Fabi comes from the other end of the Ruhrpott (which doesn’t matter in view of the floating city limits) and has a fitness stall in Mülheim/ Ruhr with his business partner.
For his Heritage we had some simple brass applications and some symbolic engravings made to show Fabi’s connection to the Ruhrpott: Hammer and iron as symbols for the miners’ work, St. Barbara as her patron saint and “Glück Auf!” as a miner’s greeting. In combination with the oliv green paint, the bike looks pretty noble, but it is still a great riding machine – Fabi came to the shooting on his own and was thrilled.
Everything that used to be chrome is now coated in glossy black. The olive-green paint may be unusual, but it fits p-e-r-f-e-k-t to this bike!
It is not hard to see that we were not only doing cosmetics. Our swinging rear fender (hand made on demand), the black wheels with brass nipples on the original hub and the leather saddle with the bag from Spirit Leather give the Heritage a completely new direction.
Also the exhaust from Kess Tech is simply black, the straight pipes end before the hub and change the sound at the push of a button. The flip handlebars with the chic brass grips have the right height for the tall “Pottbusche” and let him steer his bike safely.

An honest motorcycle for the “Pottbursche”
After 6 years Fabi has changed from his Street Bob, which he often drove through the Bergisches Land. His personal bike history went from the moped to the 125cc and supersport bike to the Harley. “For me that means deceleration. I don’t have to hang on to the brakes all the time anymore.”
He has already tried one or two custom bikes, including a Fat Boy. “But that wasn’t mine.” And now? How are the first few meters on the new Heritage? “Great! I would never have imagined riding an Ape before, but it’s great! Also the combination of the wheels and the tires are perfect” says and grins. Anyway, we think that the bike fits Fabi perfectly and wish him a lot of fun with it!
